2024 UBCF Mattress and Pink Bag Event

ARTICLE:

The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation is working with the United Breast Cancer Foundation to give away 160 queen-sized memory foam mattresses to breast cancer patients and survivors at their UBCF Mattress and Pink Bag Event this April.

Since 2012, UBCF has given away over 4,400 mattresses through numerous Mattress and Pink Bag events across the country. This is the first time the event will make its round in New England.

UBCF shared that a study from John Hopkins indicated that cancer therapy can disrupt sleep and survivors can suffer with insomnia for years after treatment.

Quality mattresses can rage from $1,500-$4,000, which can be costly for patients and survivors who struggle financially from the cost of cancer treatments.

160 mattresses will be given away at the Warwick Mall on April 27.

Patients and survivors can apply through the Gloria Gemma Foundation’s website.

Mattresses will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. Recipients must pick up their mattresses the same day of the event.
